For Gappers Requiring a UK Visa UK Immigration require that Gappers provide three months of original bank statements in your name showing a minimum of £1,600 or equivalent as part of the points based assessment (PBS) to be sent when you apply for your visa. _________________________________________________________________ All placements are vetted by Gap Year NZ Ltd. Complete and sign the application form and post with supporting documents (the application form may be submitted electronically but the application process will not commence until we have the supporting documents and application fee) · A letter outlining why you want to participate in a gap experience · Two references (these must be on letterhead and signed by the referee. It is preferable to have two independent referees; one must be from school and the second from another source eg: employer, sports coach). References can be scanned and emailed to our office. · One passport sized photo · Application fee (NZD 75.00)
If you are eligible, your application will be forwarded to potential placements
You either accept or decline the Offer of Placement. If you accept the placement, Gap Year NZ Ltd will send an invoice for the Placement Fee. If you decline the placement, Gap Year NZ Ltd will endeavour to find an alternative placement Pay the Placement Fee to confirm your place. Your place is not confirmed until we have received payment. Once the funds have been received you will be sent a fees receipt and you will be informed of any further action required including police check application forms, insurance information, flight & booking information
Four months prior to the commencing of the placement, you will be sent all relevant links to apply for your visa. An application submitted prior to three months from departure, Immigration will not assess this and the fees are non-refundable.
Three months from commencing your placement, apply for your visa online. (Please care is taken to submit all necessary documentation and points based summary)
Once your visa has been issued, you must provide a copy of the following to Gap Year NZ Ltd: · An appropriate Medical & Travel Insurance policy · Flight details
Two months from departure you will be invoiced for the outstanding balance of fees You will receive various follow up information from Gap Year NZ Ltd prior to your departure including your mentor details and Gap Year representative and a list of Gappers including contact details within your overseas region. You will receive one visit from a Gap Year NZ Ltd representative shortly after your arrival as part of our commitment to pastoral care and to ensure you have settled into your new environment.
